Finally, I pray that I would recognize my country is a raging nation that ultimately needs to submit to the one, true King, Jesus. (Psalm 2) Help me, regardless of my vote, to view my government as a good gift of your common grace (Romans 13:1-7) and that I would submit to and honor our leaders because of you. (1 Peter 2:13-17) And if my leaders try to force me to disobey you, I pray for the courage to stand true to you and your Word. (Acts 5:29) I pray that I would live, serve, and vote in a way that seeks the good of my temporary home and that it would thrive, while I wait for you to bring me to my new one. (Jeremiah 29:7)
